New County Court Judge Sworn in

March 29, 2018 Clear Creek County Communications, Colo  The Honorable Cynthia Jones was sworn in today by 5th  Judicial District Chief Judge Mark D. Thompson, as a Clear Creek County Court Judge A brief ceremony was held celebrating her appointment to the position, at the Clear Creek County Courthouse.

 

Jones previously practiced criminal law, and was the primary Alternate Defense Counsel for Eagle Countyalso taking cases in Summit, Lake, and Garfield Counties.  Previous to that, Judge Jones served in the Office of the Colorado Public Defender as a Deputy State Public Defender (2001-2013), as well as from 1993-1998.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in 1989, her Juris Doctor from the University of Montana in 1992, and a Masters of Art History from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017.

 

Jones was appointed by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper March 14, 2018, to fill the vacancy left by thHonorable Rachel Olguin-Fresquez, who went to the Eagle County Court.
