The Environmental Health department is responsible for providing inspections and information to ensure the protection of the public and environmental health. Semi-annual and annual health inspections include food service, child care, grocery stores, schools and camps. This department also protects the quality of water through enforcement of the Individual Sewage Disposal System Regulations and management of surface waters in two watershed basins. Other duties include wetland protection, safety concerns for the county employees and landfill closures.
