  1. Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of Clear Creek County in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Board of County Commissioners.
  2. Administrative head of all divisions of the County including Public Works, Health & Human Services, Finance, Information Technology, Land Use, and Special Projects.
  3. Plans, directs, leads, coordinates, and manages the administration and budget control of county divisions (excluding Elected Officials departments), including preparing and submitting the proposed annual county budget to the BOCC.
  4. Manages the activities of staff under the County Manager’s Office, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures and standards.

Meet the Manager:

Montag began his professional career as a land use planner in 1977 with Jefferson County.  In 1990 he became the Community Development Director for Eagle County and was appointed County Manager in May 2009.  Montag served as Eagle County Manager until he began his role as Clear Creek County Manager in November 2014. Montag holds dual B.A. degrees in Geography and Environmental Conservation from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from UC Denver. He is also a 2001 graduate of the Leadership Vail Valley program. Additionally, Keith is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners, International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and is a past president of the Association of Colorado County Administrators (ACCA).
