Our Mission: To promote, protect and improve the lifelong health of individuals and communities in Clear Creek County through the effective use of data, evidence-based prevention strategies, leadership, advocacy, partnership and the pursuit of health equity.

Prevention: Everyday for Everyone

Every day public and environmental health programs are at work in your community--promoting health and preventing disease. Many public and environmental health activities are required by the state.  Our role is to control and prevent diseases, protect against environmental hazards, promote safety, respond to health emergencies, teach healthy behaviors and ensure the quality and accessibility of health services for everyone. Preventing the outbreak and spread of disease, offering health screenings, establishing local health policies, and providing educational services are critical programs in a community-based health mission.Conducting disease investigations and providing public health nursing services ensures community-based health for everyone. We all need medical care some of the time, but we need public health all of the time.

Partners in Prevention

Clear Creek County Public and Environmental Health (CCCPEH) works in partnership with the Health and Human Services Department (HHS), Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the county to provide comprehensive, integrated services. A Board of Public Health and a Health Advisory Committee assist CCPEH in addressing the health concerns of the county, including poverty, housing, access to health care, employment, food and transportation--all of which influence the health status of residents.

The Clear Creek County Health Advisory Committee or HAC meets each quarter on a Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. to report on health topics and local programs. If you would like to participate as a visitor or regular member, please call (303) 670-7539.
