The Clear Creek County Wildfire Risk Reduction Grant Program is a community-based, cost share program that provides matching grants to eligible Clear Creek County single property homeowners to assist with actual costs associated with the implementation of hazardous fuels reduction projects. The purpose of this grant program is to reduce wildfire risk in Clear Creek County by amplifying the wildfire mitigation investment homeowners make on their properties.
Projects may include the creation of defensible space to reduce the ignitability of structures throughout the plan area, hazard tree removal, the creation of fuel breaks, the development of emergency water supplies, and improvements to evacuation routes by the removal of trees.
Applicants can request up to 50% of project costs up to a maximum of $5,000 to fund a wildland mitigation project. The change from Homeowners Association-based grants to individual property owner grants was made to include residents who may not be a part of an association which will offer equity in availability of grant funds.
Grant applications are due by 5:30 PM, May 10, 2023. Below is an online application.
