County 2018 Fall River Road Project Earns National Honors

April 26, 2019 – Clear Creek County Communications, Colo.  –The National Asphalt Paving Association (NAPA) recently recognized Clear Creek County and Martin Marietta (project contractor) for ‘Excellence in Asphalt Pavements’ for 2018.  The construction project removed and replaced 2.4 miles of asphalt, with 33,500 square yards of subgrade preparation, and 9,600 tons of new hot mix asphalt installed at a total cost of nearly $1.1M.  The project initially started mid-July 2018, and was completed a month later----between York Gulch Rd. and Hamlin Gulch Rd.

“I am truly honored to accept this recognition on behalf of Clear Creek County, and the good work our partners at Martin Marietta did in making our roads better and safer for generations to come,” said Karl Schell, County Public Works Director.  “This was our biggest Capital Improvement Project last year, and shows the dedication and commitment we all have to making travel better around our County,” he added.

According to the NAPA website, “…The National Asphalt Pavement Association’s Awards Program recognizes those in our industry who achieve excellence. NAPA awards are meaningful for the winners because they are bestowed by peers, but publicity reaches far beyond the NAPA membership. Winners are highlighted in industry publications throughout the country and recognized for the quality work they are doing...” .
