Jeffcom911 is one of few Emergency Communications Centers in the region that is achieving national standards for answering emergency calls, 90% within the first 15 seconds, a National Emergency Number Association standard. Partnering with Jeffcom gives the county access to cutting-edge technology and highly trained staff. Jeffcom911 also has additional certifications, the size and ability to handle mass casualty incidents and calls that could be more complex when it comes to mental health and other situations.
In addition, the Board of County Commissioners has discussed the need for identifying cost savings within the County’s budget for several years. Focus areas for cost savings have included the Communications Center/E911 due to its large yearly cost.
