The Census Bureau encrypts the data during the data collection and then store the data on the private, internal Census Bureau network, which is isolated from the internet by firewalls and other security measures.
The Census Bureau will mail invitations to physical addresses during the month of March. If you normally receive your mail in a PO Box, you will not receive an invitation in your mail. Your Census questionnaire will be hand-delivered to your door step by a Census employee. If, by April 1, you still have not received anything, you can respond without your invitation (see ‘I lost my Census unique identifying number’ below; EVERYONE COUNTS!

Currently homeless ~ the Census Bureau will send out employees to count the homeless population during a specific point in time during the month of March.
YES, EVERYONE COUNTS! None of the questions on the Census questionnaire will ask about legal status. All answers you provide are protected by law, and can not be shared with any other government or agency.
Congratulations! If your baby is born on April 1 or earlier during 2020, YES ~ include your baby in your response (even if you are still at the hospital). If your baby is born after April 1, you should not include your baby in the 2020 Census count.
