A similar public notice was published on July 4, 2012, however, the previously scheduled meetings were canceled. New meetings dates for the subject land use request are outlined below.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following amendment to the Clear Creek County Zoning Maps and associated development has been proposed to the Board of County Commissioners, Clear Creek County, State of Colorado:
Request: Clear Creek County has received an application to rezone approximately 74.2 acres from Mountain Residential – Single Family Units (MR-1) to Commercial – Outdoor/Recreation and an application for development review to construct a commercial zip line tour (two total; one 1,660 feet long and another 1,820 feet long each having two towers) and camping area (19 semi-primitive sites). The applicant plans to utilize the existing single family home as an office and dwelling unit for a property manager/caretaker.
Location: The subject property is located at 8620 CO Highway 103 approximately 8.6 miles south of Idaho Springs. Being the Gibson Division of Land, located in the South ½ of the Southeast ¼ of Section 24, Township 4 South, Range 74 West of the 6th PM, County of Clear Creek, State of Colorado.
Public Hearings: The Clear Creek County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the 19th day of September, 2012 at 6:30 pm to consider the rezoning application before recommending approval, approval with conditions, or denial to the Board of County Commissioners. The location of the public hearing is the Idaho Springs City Hall, 1711 Miner Street, Idaho Springs, CO 80452, where and when all parties may appear and be heard.
Prior to final action, the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the 8th day of October, at 10:00 am, to consider the rezoning application. The location of the public hearing is the Commissioners' Hearing Room in the Clear Creek County Courthouse, 405 Argentine Street, Georgetown CO, 80444, where and when all parties may appear and be heard.
